Data Recovery in Florida: Accident Leads to Data Recovery

Last May I accidentally reinstalled my Windows operating system. It was an accident because I had intended to reinstall my browser which picked up a virus.

Fortunately, I had a backup stored at an online data service. I panicked at first, but I felt relief knowing I had a backup. Putting my fears to rest, I went about trying to recover the data from the backup at the online service.

The restore utility worked flawless and I could see many files and folders on my hard drive. So I went about my business and began using my computer with a newfound confidence. I had been working with the new system for a few days before I realized something about the data I had recovered. Yes, the data seemed complete but something didn’t look right, but I carried on as usual.

Finally, two days later, wanting to get some information from my e-mail client, I searched my files. Hmm. I couldn’t find the e-mail I wanted. I then realized that I could only get the e-mails stored after the recovery. This lead me into another sweating session, feeling my blood pressure rise.

You see I had kept perfect backups of my regular files but neglected to configure the e-mail client into the online backup. This meant I had no backup of my e-mails, as I thought I had. So when the browser crashed and I did the accidental reinstall of the operating system, I lost access to my e-mails. Luckily, I had the recovery technician dump all my files onto an external hard drive I had bought, so I had some hope of recovering the e-mails.

I saw the e-mails were in the old files but I couldn’t recover them. I tried every trick in the book until I decided to go on the Internet and searched for information about restoring e-mails files. This led me on a wild chase of trying every free utility I could find, but I couldn’t restore the files, until I came across a special utility that was the solution to my problem….
