Can You Keep a Secret?

Hi,

Welcome!

I started this blog because of a bad habit I have. All right, I admit, I have one bad habit. You may ask what is this bad habit? Well, as a further confession, I do not backup my data, even though I find myself at the mercy of computer professionals who are just waiting for people like me. Does this sound like you, too?

I could think about 101 reasons I am prone to such wallet declining behavior. But the overriding one is that backups don’t always work the way the experts say they would. And even if they do work, the media you use to store your valuable records can incur physical damage, making your records inaccessible.

I remember working with a client who was in their second year of business and was about to move their offices. I recommended that they backup their data before the move. Since they didn’t have a clue about how to backup their hard drive, they asked me to be the hero. I jumped from my high chair and began securing their company’s records on a few floppy disks.

The backup went fine and they stored the disks in a safe place.

A few months later, their accounting system crashed, burned, or you might say, it just didn’t work anymore. I spent many hours trying to get access to the records on the drive but my intuition told me it was a case of mission impossible. You can’t restore what is not there.

So, back to the reason I started this blog. I have decided to smarten up and try to do as the computer experts say (not that they do it themselves). Backup my data as often as possible. But since I can’t guarantee my bad habit will not come back to haunt me like the ghost of Christmas past, I have decided to learn about the insider’s secrets to recovering data.

We will cover the data recovery market and bring you information, tips, case studies, interviews, product reviews, and so much more. You can get on with your lives not having to worry about the complex world of regaining access to your records. Reading this site means you don’t have to surf 1000s of web pages to find a reliable recovery geek in your area, or to buy a piece of software that will do the job for you.

See you on the inside.
